What Is The Next Step After Getting Married In Canada?

My partner and I are planning on getting married, I am from the UK and he is Canadian and I know we have to register with the registrar in Canada as this is where I wish to be married. I have been told that their is more things I need to do after the wedding as I wont become a full citizen when married and have a further process to go through so what is the next thing I have to do to become a permanent resident.

Go to the government office of immigration and fill out the paperwork to become a citizen. it won’t happen immediately, but you can start the ball rolling
